1. Coconut Lime Sugar Scrub
Our first pick of the crop is a homemade scrub that feels just as
amazing as it sounds. You can whip up an outstanding batch of Coconut
Lime Sugar Scrub at home and exfoliate on your own or offer it as a
super cute present for a loved one. To nail this recipe, you are going
to need 1 tablespoon of shredded coconut, ¼ cup of melted coconut oil,
around 6 to 8 drops of lime oil and 1 cup of granulated white sugar. In
order to melt the coconut oil, you heat it up in the microwave,
afterwards mixing it well with the granulated sugar. You then add the
lime and coconut oils and stir it all together, in order to obtain 1 cup
of Coconut Lime Sugar Scrub.
2. Chocolate Coconut Oil Sugar Scrub
Another super yummy DIY sugar scrub is based on chocolate and coconut oil. The coconut oil acts as a delightful moisturizer,
whereas the sugar exfoliates and the chocolate offers an irresistible
fragrance. This homemade scrub takes only 10 minutes to make, so let’s
get to work! You need 1 cup of brown sugar, ½ a cup of solid coconut
oil, 1/3 cup of almond oil and 2 tbsps. of unsweetened cocoa powder.
Also, it’s good to have some coconut essential oil or extract, so you
can add a few drops to your mixture. Preparation is simple: mix all off
the ingredients until you get a consistent texture and then apply the
scrub one time a week for super silky skin.
3. Citrus Salt Scrub
This salt scrub has an amazing fresh aroma that will leave your skin
with a tropical scent. To get it done right, take 1 teaspoon of orange,
lime, grapefruit or lemon zest, ½ a cup of sea salt and ½ a cup of an
essential oil, depending on preferences. Thoroughly mix all of the
ingredients together until you obtain the substance of a scrub. You can
use this fruity treat for your skin while you are in the shower or bath,
but be careful to not get it in your eyes. Rinse and enjoy!
4. Vanilla & Coconut Oil Brown Sugar Scrub
As you have probably already noticed, coconut oil is a key ingredient
for a wide variety of DIY body scrubs. The reason for its omnipresence
is that it works incredibly for moisturizing your skin as you exfoliate.
This particular sugar scrub is so delicious that you can even enjoy it
as a dessert. All you need is a ½ cup of brown sugar and coconut oil
each, as well as ½ a teaspoon of vanilla. Mix, mix, mix and enjoy your
awesome Vanilla & Coconut Oil Brown Sugar Scrub.
5. Oatmeal & Honey Sugar Scrub
Oatmeal and honey makes you think of a super sweet breakfast in bed
on a lazy Sunday morning. You should know that these key ingredients
combined made a delightful homemade sugar scrub. You are going to need ½

6. Lavender Salt Scrub
Lavender has such a beautiful fragrance that it’s natural for us to
use it in a DIY body scrub. This is what you need to prepare: ½ a cup of
sea salt, 1/3 cup of a preferred essential oil (we recommend grapeseed,
but you choose whichever one you want), 1 tablespoon of lavender
(dried), and lavender essential oil. You mix the first two ingredients
and then add the dried pieces of lavender. Finally, you add as many
drops of lavender oil as you like (around 15 should be just fine), and
then enjoy your freshly made scrub.
7. Shea Butter Body Scrub
This ultra-smooth homemade body scrub with loads of positive reviews
will leave your skin literally glowing. You need to get ready ½ a cup of
raw shea butter, 2/3 cup of sugar, 1/8 teaspoon of vitamin E oil, 1/3
cup of olive oil and an essential oil. You firstly need to beat the raw
shea butter in a bowl until you obtain a cream-like consistency (it
should take around five minutes). You then add the vitamin E and olive
oils progressively and then the sugar. Afterwards, take about ten drops
of your preferred essential oil and mix it all in. In just under ten
minutes you’ll be good to go! It’s a great alternative for the
commercial Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub, so try it out at home before you
hit the stores.
8. Banana Sugar Body Scrub
The ingredients used for this DIY scrub work wonders for both your
face and the rest of your body. Take one ripe banana, three tablespoons
of granulated sugar and a fourth of a teaspoon of the essential oil of
your choice (we recommend vanilla). You take the ingredients and crush
them together by using a fork. Be careful to not make the substance too
thin, though, because it won’t work that well as a scrub. For facial
use, just take some crushed banana and carefully rub it on your face,
without getting it into your eyes. Review it yourself and let us know if
you enjoyed it!
9. Green Tea Sugar Scrub
This particular sugar scrub has loads of health benefits, besides
being one of the best for exfoliation. Green tea is rich in antioxidants
and comes packed up with antibacterial properties, so you will be doing
your body a great favor by treating it to this sugar scrub. Prepare 1
cup of sugar (granulated or natural sugars are just fine), 1/8 cup of
grapeseed, olive, or your favorite essential oil, 1/8 cup of cool green
tea and 1 bag of fresh green tea. Stir all the ingredients together in a
big bowl and add the bad of tea at the end for a great appearance and
added fragrance.
10. Cranberry Sugar Scrub
For as far as we can remember, cranberries have always been
appreciated for having super food health benefits, as they are rich in
antioxidants and nutrients. A Cranberry Sugar Scrub can be obtained by
getting 1 cup of cranberries (fresh or frozen, although we recommend
fresh), 2 cups of granulated sugar, ½ cup of coconut oil and the
essential oil you enjoy most. Stir the cranberries well and then blend
them with the granulated sugar and coconut oil. At the end, add as much
essential oil as you prefer (we usually use 10 to 12 drops) and you’re
done!
11. Gingerbread Sugar Scrub
Now this homemade scrub is simply perfect for a cute Christmas
present, as gingerbread goes hand in hand with the winter holidays. The
entire ingredient list is: 1 cup of white and brown sugar each, ½ a cup
of coconut oil, ¼ cup of almond oil, and ½ teaspoon of ginger, cinnamon,
nutmeg, vanilla, nutmeg and all spice each. Excluding the oils, mix all
of the main ingredients together in a bowl. The almond and coconut oil
should be added progressively into your mixture, until you reach the
consistency of your choice. Place your freshly prepared homemade scrub
into a jar, add a seasonal label and tie it up with a bow for a creative
gift.
12. Coffee & Coconut Body Scrub
Last but not definitely not least, if you want to make your own sugar
scrub at home, you should try the Coffee & Coconut Body Scrub. This
certain type of scrub is well-known for helping you get rid of
cellulite, owing to the caffeine, although it hasn’t been officially
proven. Our review of the scrub shows that if you apply it regularly,
you will enjoy visibly firmer skin. Moreover, the coconut oil and coffee
in this scrub are both high in antioxidants, so your skin will greatly
benefit from it. To get this scrub together, you’re going to need 1 cup
of ground coffee, 1 cup of sugar, ½ a cup of coconut oil and ½ a
tablespoon of cinnamon for a super sweet scent. First you have to melt
the coconut oil and let it cool off, and then mix all of the remaining
ingredients together. Enjoy and repeat as often as you like!
